NCDV: Interactive Domestic Violence

JWT recently installed this brilliant interactive billboard campaign at London’s Euston Station for the National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV). Users would see an abusive domestic situation between a man and a woman, and were prompted to help by entering a web address or scan a QR code to start interacting immediately and help save the woman. They are then able to control the characters by dragging the man away from the woman and onto on that adjacent billboards. The screens then synchronise to urge people to report any domestic violence situations to the NCDV so that they can intervene on the victim’s behalf.

Ford: Cane Toad Road

Gutsy ad for the new Ford Falcon in Australia by JWT Melbourne. The ad features a pair of Cane Toads, that are unsurprisingly not loved in Australia as a pest. Debatable if it tells you much about the car, but at least it has people talking.

Volkswagen Amarok: Facebook FlipBook

Such a simple yet clever idea by ad agency: McCann, Istanbul for the VW Amarok. They created a photo album that turned into a flip book style animation as you click through the pictures. You can experience the flipbook over here: Flipbook

Stimorol: Mega Mystery Invisibility

Man wins Invisibility. With Stimorol Mega Mystery.

Nobody knows what Stimorol Mega Mystery tastes like. So they’re running a competition where people can suggest any flavour they want and potentially win that flavour. But not flavours like apple or melon. Weird flavours. Like Alien Abduction.  In this rather bizarre video we watch the competition’s first winner, Harry, winning The Power of Invisibility. All because he said that Mega Mystery tastes like Invisibility.

Warning: Hold onto your mind. It’s about to be warped. To vote for your flavour go to www.youdecidetheflavour.com.

Stimorol also very kindly sent me my very own flavour gum! I think it tastes like LOL Cats 🙂 Mega media pack2Mega pack3

Emart: Shadow QR Codes

QR codes are often used, but rarely effectively or creatively.  Korean agency Cheil Worldwide found a great way to use them for E-mart stores in South Korea. In order to help increase lunchtime sales at the stores they erected installations around the country outside stores that would produce QR code shadows from 12-1pm. Once scanned people could get exclusive discounts and even shop online from their phones. Sales increased by 25%, and E-mart online membership increased by 53%. Great work.

Agency Republic: Change the tune

Built as an R&D project at agencyrepublic.com the above poster consists of a touch sensor and a iPod linked up to Spotify. Each time someone hears a track they don’t like, all they need to do is throw something at the poster and the track changes. Could think of some great other uses for something like this. Great work.

Tang: Shaker Roller Coaster

Very clever sampling activation work by Ogilvy, Buenos Aires for Tang dissolvable drinks. They branded a Roller Coaster, installed sturdy cup holders with water in them, then got the kids to put in the Tang powder, and let the roller coaster’s movements create the perfectly mixed drink ready for sampling at the end of the ride.

Dove: Ad Makeover

Clever work by Dove by Ogilvy UK. They created a facebook app that will block out the often self esteem demoralising ads seen on facebook with encouraging dove notes. The campaign works by Dove doing an advertising deal direct with facebook for the people that install the app. See how it works in the clip above and try it out for yourself at http://theadmakeover.dove.com/themakeover (note the app will not work in all countries).

NYC Rescue Mission: Underheard in New York

Brilliant work by BBH, New York for The NYC Rescue Mission. They gave a voice to homeless people by giving them a phone, a twitter account, and then asked them to talk to people online about their day to day life. The results are inspirational. Enjoy

Audi R8: Fan Messenger

Innovative work from Audi by agency Kempertrautmann in Germany. They rigged an R8 LMS race car with a LED strobe light during the 24hours Nürburgring race. Fans could upload personal messages via facebook and they photographers captures the pictures during the night phase of the race using long exposure photos. The pictures were then uploaded onto albums and spread via social media.
