Carl’s Jr: Miss Turkey with a Turkey Burger

Wonderful use of Miss Turkey (Gizem Memiç) in this above Carl’s Jr commercial for their new Turkey burger. If you’ve been to Cape Town it looks like the clip could have been filmed here too as the background looks just like Lions head!

Nice Miss Turkey shoot David&Goliath, USA

Australian Office of Road Safety: Enjoy The Ride

“Enjoy the Ride” is a Road Safety Council of Western Australia initiative created by 303 advertising in Perth. Its so nice to see a non shock and awe approach to road safety in this day and age and I’m pretty sure this will have a far greater effect on reducing speeding and accidents.

If only all road safety ads were this good.

Twitter: Happy 5th Birthday Video

Great emotive video from Twitter launched on the day of their 5th birthday! The video features several celebs and others answering questions posed by twitter about who they follow, how they use twitter, and more. Celebs featured include: Hillary Clinton, Richard Branson, Piers Morgan, Snoop Dogg, and astronaut Paolo Nespoli.

Happy Birthday Twitter and thanks for making the world just that little bit smaller and more efficient.

Range Rover Evoque: Pulse of the City app

Evoque

Interesting project by Range Rover for the launch on the new Evoque. as part of a global campaign called ‘Pulse of the City’, they have launched an app available for iPhone and Android phones that uses GPS tracking to record the collective movements of people within various cities around the world (now including Johannesburg). Users are then given a graphical representation of their journey which they can display on the Helloevoque.com website.

People can also add comments about their favourite walks, hot spots and journeys, creating a real time, evolving pulse of each city.

To try it out for free click here for the iPhone app, or here for the Android app.

Lynx Excite: Virtual Angels in Victoria Station

Lynx continues to promote their Angels falling campaign, this time with a clever virtual activation at London’s Victoria station. See the clip above to find out how they wowed people. If your in the UK and want to see it for yourself the next activation will be in the Birmingham Bullring 19th & 20th March 2011. (see more on their facebook page here)

Nicely done by the chaps from BBH, London.

SA Car of the Year 2011: VW Polo 1.6TDI & BMW 520D

Stunning tongue in cheek clip for VW. For the first time in the 26 year history of the SA Car of the Year competition, there was a draw, with the BMW 530D and the VW Polo 1.6TDI both winning car of the year.

With a price difference of over R400 000 I would say the VW did pretty well. On a side note I just saw the below pic of the new upcoming Polo GTI! Looks like pure love to me.Polo GTI

VW: Magazine Test Drive

VW Norway recently released this simple yet effective Augmented Reality print ad. In order to show how Volkswagen are constantly implementing technical innovations to their cars, they created a print ad (shown below) that is being placed in several leading publications in Norway.

The ad prompts you to SMS a short code that gives you the link to download an iPhone app. Once downloaded you hover your iPhone over the road and the app will show you examples of how "Lane Assist", "Adaptive Lighting", Adaptive Cruise Control work.
