Lynx Deodorant: Lucy Pinder banned ads

lucy_pinder_turkey

Lynx (or Axe as its know in the rest of the world) have just had a series of posters and online videos featuring the rather large breasted Lucy Pinder banned by the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority. The ruling was because they are thought to be sexually suggestive, indecent, provocative, glamorize casual sex and objectify women.

Lynx responded by saying the campaign is “simply what young men have come to expect, and were comfortable with the typical narrative, tone and content seen in advertising for the brand" and in relation to beach-based ads, "she [the model in the ad] was not undressed to an extent that would be in any way unusual in that location."

See one of the video’s below, or click on the following to see some of the other clips: cheering, tossing, Boxing, Reading etc etc

Peugeot RCZ: Google Street View

Simple but clever idea from the chaps at Loducca, Sao Paulo, for the new Peugeot RCZ. Using Google Street View you can plan a journey, and the website then creates a custom stop animation video using the imagery from Google of the chosen route.

Tunisia Elections: The Return of Ben Ali

Earlier in the year Ogilvy Tunisia came up with a rather powerful Go Vote activation for Tunisia’s first free elections.

On January 14th 2011, former Dictator President Ben Ali was chased out of Tunisia. Since then much of the population lost interest in politics. After many ineffective attempts to push Tunisian people to go out and vote for the upcoming elections, Ogilvy made a new campaign  in the port of La Goulette, to shock the residents. Their reaction was filmed, see what they did above.

Results: On election day (23rd October), there was a 80% voter turnout, when only 60% were expected.
