Microsoft: IE10 – Do you know this guy?

Brilliant ad for Microsoft’s new Internet Explorer 10 browser. Great to see them not taking themselves too seriously and having a bit of fun. Find out more at http://www.browseryoulovedtohate.com

Ogilvy: Pirate Recruitment

Ogilvy Brussels was looking for a new web designer with fresh ideas. They knew that unemployed web designers can’t afford the crazily expensive editing suites they need to work, and they may be tempted to download it illegally. They uploaded a file supposed to provide the editing suite on many pirate sharing websites. When web designers downloaded the file, they discovered that the editing suite was not in the download. Instead, they gave them something much better: an exciting job opportunity at Ogilvy.

Quiksilver: Few Words

Although strictly not really an ad I thought as it’s winter and as I’m a fan of skiing I would share the above wonderful teaser for Quiksilver’s new movie, Few Words. If you like Art of Flight, you will love this too. They followed French professional skier and multiple X game winner, Candide Thovex, for 2 years to create the feature-length film.

The Lost Choir: Mad World

International Children’s Day was on November, 20th. Every three seconds the world loses a child. The above thought provoking video was created by Grey Düsseldorf and the Wuppertaler Kurrende boy’s choir, for the International Children’s Fund. To help out and read more go to https://www.icfaid.com.

KLM: Out of Facebook Reply

Simple but great idea, in a world of email out of office replies, what about leaving a message for your facebook friends too? KLM have created the above app that allows you to say where you’re going and for how long, then every time someone leaves a message for you on Facebook the app responds with your custom out of office message.

Metro: Dumb Ways to Die

Best PSA of the year so far in my book. The ad was made for Melbourne’s Metro rail authority. The song was made by Tangerine Kitty, you can download the song for free at http://soundcloud.com/tangerinekitty/tangerine-kitty-dumb-ways-to, or visit the website to find out more at http://dumbwaystodie.com/. Brilliant.

Sony Xperia: Face Off

Interesting idea for Sony’s Xperia range of phones in the UK. They have put the phones in toy racing cars and you can control them via the web. To show how the phone can do one touch sharing of pictures and music they allow you to race the car and challenge you to stop it over other phones embedded in the track, if you get it right you stand a chance to win phones, and a holiday to Vegas.

Red Bull: Kluge

Just in case anyone has not seen this yet, great twist on a Rube Goldberg machine idea by Red Bull, this time using a team of Red Bull sponsored sports stars. Get the behind the scenes footage and find out how it was done here:http://www.redbullusa.com/kluge

Halo 4: Launch Overview

The Halo franchise has always done pretty incredible launch campaigns but the above has taken it a step further. Halo 4 was released on the 6th November and racked up $US220 million in global sales on its launch day alone, setting a new entertainment release record.

Watch the behind-the-scenes look of the making of the campaign for the Halo 4 launch. The majority of the spend was in activation/digital engagement ideas, a trend we continue to see more and more brands adopting. JCPR created and managed Experience: Halo, alongside creating content and managing amplification for the flying Glyph working with AKQA and Microsoft.
