Birra 08: Cats In The Dark App

Massively ballsy beer app from Birra 08 (a traditional beer from Barcelona). They created the above app called Cats In The Dark, the app allowed you to take a picture of someone you like at a bar, rate them from 1-10, and then select how many beers you’ve had. The app then calculates a more sober score based on facial recognition and your consumption.

Brave, funny but bordering on very sexist work from ad Agency DDB, Spain.

Lexus: Amazing in Motion–Steps

Beautiful ad for Lexus from CHI & Partners. ‘Steps’ is the first in a series of Amazing in Motion projects created by Lexus.’Steps’ tells the story of an 11-ft tall figure brought to life by puppeteers as it moves through the city in search of something. Wonderful work.

Be sure to check out the user interface of the brilliant website they made for the project at http://www.amazinginmotion.com

Situation Stockholm: CV Posters

Brilliant work by agency INGO Stockholm, to help raise awareness of homeless people selling the magazine Situation Stockholm (their equivalent of the Big Issue). They bought poster space is subway stations where the homeless people sell the magazine, and put the sellers CV’s on the posters. People took notice and sales of the magazine increased by over 100%. Great work for a great cause.

Coke Zero: Zero Clue

Ogilvy France recently created the above Coke Zero campaign that so far has over 1million views on YouTube. They wanted to  see what it takes for people to notice the difference between Coca-Cola and Coke Zero, without conducting another boring taste test.

They created a campaign called Zero Clue, an interactive taste test that got Coca-Cola drinkers unknowingly enjoying a Coke Zero thanks to a unique and innovative colour-changing can. Enjoy.

Renault: The ultimate speed date

Publicis Brussels made this nice viral for the launch of the new Renault Clio RS: a speed dating in every sense of the word with real "speed daters" in search of their soul mate. Among them is Caroline. Watch the above video to see too how her speed dating technique went.

Heineken: Ignite

Heineken recently created their first interactive beer bottle at the Milan Design Week as part of Heineken’s Lounge of the Future concept. The Heineken Ignite project used bottles with LED lights, an accelerometer, and a wireless trigger attached to the bottom of them. When people entered the lounge and bought a Heineken, their bottles came to life with light shows. Watch the above case study to see how it went down.

Gollog: Google Street View Delivery

Simple but wonderful idea from AlmapBBDO for delivery courier company Gollog. They created a digital magazine ad that took your current good street view location and overlaid a Gollog package with your current street address on it when you viewed the ad, helping to show that Gollog delivers to wherever you are.

AlmapBBDO seems to be king at doing digital magazine ads at the moment. Although the ideas seem great I do wonder the actual effectiveness / success of the ads, as I can’t help but think a lot of this is filmed in an ideal world and slightly scam……will wait and see. Either way is great to see people exploring the possibilities of interactive print ads.

See another of their digital magazine ads below, this time for insurance company Bradesco.

Volkswagen: Click if you can

It’s case study season again (read pro-active / scam time). This above work caught my eye for the Golf GTI by DDB, Spain. They decided to take help solve the problem of those annoying 5 second YouTube pre-roll ads by creating the fastest YouTube ad . The ad shows a glimpse of a car speeding past then skips to your video. Next in your video of choice, a banner appears over the video showing a picture of the previous GTI, if you click it redirects you to the new Golf GTI’s website for more information.

Dan Ariely: How perception can alter our reality

Today I thought I would share a brilliant talk from behavioural economist, Dan Ariely. Understanding this topic will be a great help in understanding why people think and behave in the way they do.

In this short TEDx talk he discusses how perception can alter our reality.

Volkswagen: Automatic Skip Ad

More brilliant Volkswagen YouTube work from AlmapBBDO. They created the above YouTube pre-roll ad that showed odd the benefits of the VW seamless DSG Tiptronic transmission by seamlessly automatically pressing the skip button at the end of the 5 second ad so users could quickly get to their chosen YouTube clip. Simple and brilliant.
