Old Spice recently released 4 new remarkably odd yet funny 18 second ads for the new NFL season. Would love to have been in the meeting when Wieden + Kennedy sold these to the client. Watch them below for a dose of freak.
Guinness: wheelchair basketball
This new Guinness ad brilliantly put together by BBDO, New York has a wonderful unexpected ending, Watch it to find out.
Philips: Remix Carolyn
Fantastic work from the guys and girls at Ogilvy & Mather London, Philips, and UK band Swiss Lips. Together they have created one of the best music video’s I have seen for a long time. It’s part music video, part 8 bit style video game, try it out at http://www.remixcarolyn.com to create your own music video.
The campaign is part of Philips innovative “You Need To Hear This Campaign” where they are creating some impressive articles / activations / Stuff around great music to help promote their headphone range.(If you like the track below you can download it at https://soundcloud.com/swiss-lips/swiss-lips-carolyn)
Android KITKAT 4.4: The future of confectionery
Google’s latest version of its Android operating system is named KitKat after the tasty chocolate bar. To celebrate the announcement KitKat created a fantastic new HTML 5 website and the parody video below. So far the video alone has been seen almost 1million times in just over a day. If you want to see what a great website looks like (and have fun reading the copy), just head over to http://www.kitkat.com.
LG: Ultra Reality Office Prank
LG in Chile recently created the below pretty ballsy activation to show of it’s new large Ultra HD screens. They rigged an interview office with sound and cameras, then swapped the window for the Ultra HD screen. Mid interview the unsuspecting culprits started to see a comet flying into the city…watch below to see their reactions. I do wonder if they used actors or not though, looks a little fishy to me.
Inspiration from Cannes 2013
Below is a deck we put together at Ogilvy Cape Town sharing some of the great work and trends from the 2013 Cannes Lions. The presentation was put together by Chris Gotz and Myself. Hope you enjoy it.
RayBan: #NoFilterJustRayban
To help promote RayBan’s wide range of polarized colour lenses DDB Brussels put polarized filters onto local trams. In an Instagram / filter crazy world this works really well. To read more on the campaign go to http://checkthis.com/jx3o or www.nofilterjustrayban.com
Coca-Cola: 3D Mini-Me
Interesting work by Gefen Team for Coca-Cola. To help launch Coke’s new mini bottles they ran a competition where winners could get a tour of the Coca-Cola factory and have a 3D printed model of themselves made right there to go along with their mini Coke.
Stowford Press: Press On
Saw this ad pop on the TV the other day and tracked it down, the work was done by WCRS, London. The ad is for Stowford Press cider, England’s most popular draught cider brand, it’s their first TV ad for and gives a cheers to those men who “Press on”. Wonderful work.
Coca-Cola: Grandpa
The below ad was put together for Coke by advertising agency David, Buenos Aires, and shows the difference in lifestyles from the 50’s/60’s compared to nowadays (Slow pace / Healthier, to fast paced / unhealthy).
For a company that makes a very sugary (read not incredibly healthy) product I’m not sure the below ad will have the desired effect for a modern day customer.
Rather stick to happiness I think.
