Canon: Inspired

Recently the below ad by Canon and Grey New York won an Emmy for Outstanding Commercial at 65th Annual Creative Arts Emmys. The ad beat out BBH’s Google Chrome “Jess Time” and CP+B’s Grey Poupon “The Chase.”

Virgin Mobile: BlinkWashing

Virgin Mobile has come up with an innovative disruptive way of getting people to check out their mobile deal in the USA thanks to ad agency Mother, New York.
They created a YouTube video that tracks your eyes and plays out different scenes every time you blink, explaining Virgin Mobile offers every time. I counted 9 different acts so far but am pretty sure there are more. If you have a webcam try it out at http://www.youtube.com/user/virginmobileusa/blinkwashing

Cornetto: Love Plane (Sky Banner Tweets)

Although the video is rather cheesy, and the title a little off, I do like the simplicity and reach of this idea + is a nice use of sky banners. The activation was done in Spain for Cornetto by ad agency Lola / Lowe & Partners
, Madrid. Basically if you tweeted a message of love with the #CornettoSkyTweets and it was popular, they would put it up in the sky. They managed to get new messages out every 15mins by using 3 planes.

Volvo Trucks: The Hamster Stunt

Volvo Trucks just released this interesting activation video called ‘The Hamster Stunt’. It’s a live stunt featuring a hamster names Charlie driving a 15-tonne construction truck out of a quarry. The test was set up to demonstrate Volvo’s light dynamic steering. The ad was made by ad agency Forsman Bodenfors, Enjoy.

MINI Salutes You #MININOTNORMAL

Very nice work for Mini by Iris Worldwide, London. During the summer they took over interactive billboards in London and rewarded Mini drivers with surprise gifts, helping them bring to life Mini’s #MININOTNORMAL campaign.

Arcade Fire: Just A Reflektor

Another interesting Google Chrome experiment with Arcade Fire, made by agency Unit9.
Together they created an interactive music video filmed in Haiti the follows the story of a young woman who travels between her world and ours. The film alters by connecting your phone to the computer, allowing you to change the viewing perspective of the video + it utilise your phones speakers. Try it out at http://www.justareflektor.com.

RPA Advertising: The Listening Cloud

Nice piece of tech art from ad agency RPA in Santa Monica, Calif. RPA wanted to visualise the social media interactions of it’s brands + anything else that people wanted to look at. The cloud lights up every time anyone Likes, tweets, or Instagrams about that brand/person.
This artwork is a really nice example of humanising technology, something we all need to try work at more.

Vodafone: Add Power To Your Life

Have a quick look at this wonderfully produced ad visualising Vodafone’s tag line “Add power to your life”. Fantastic work for Vodafone by Jung Von Matt/Alster.

Volkswagen: GTI Bannerbahn

Most banner ads are awful boring things that people never really click on, in fact people are more likely to be struck by lightning than click on one!.
Thanks to Volkswagen and wonderful Amsterdam agency Achtung!, there is now a great one.
The banner connects the digital world to the real one by challenging you click on a real Golf GTI being driven fast around a track and live streamed onto the banner. If you can click on the car you stand a chance to win one. Brilliant work.
