Paul Adams: Real Life Social Networks vs Online

Just thought I would share this fantastic presentation with you as personally I found it a very interesting read. The slideshow was made by Paul Adams from Google and talks about real life social networks and the problems associated with trying to duplicate them online. Paul works as a Senior User Experience Researcher at Google and has become a bit of a legend at understanding how people interact in the digital domain.

Fantastic bit of creativity from Grey, Barcelona, for Pilot pens new Extrafine range of pens. This is one I’m pretty sure a friend of mine called Richard Mulholland would love (who wouldn’t like Lego with custom tattoos).

MadMen: Online Job Interview

Mad Men If you love MadMen, get ready because advertisings favourite TV series is about to start its 4th season on the 25th July. To help promote the series AMC have created an online job interview. After answering a series of questions you will be told what position you would most likely fill in the Sterling, Cooper, Draper, Pryce agency. Personally I was chosen as a copywriter! What MadMen are you? Click on the image above or here to take the test.

New Spice: Harold B. Lee Library

After 184 personalised videos from Old Spice there was bound to be some great parody video clips, and this one from students at the Brigham Young University is my personal favourite. The clip is for the main campus’s Harold B. Lee Library. Enjoy (“Monocle smile”)

VW: FOX Inside Out

Volkswagen-Fox-An-all-new-interior

AlmapBBDO, São Paulo, Brazil have produced this clever Print and online ad campaign for the new VW Fox interior. The online flash ad was placed on YouTube and can be seen by clicking here (Just scroll the VW logo to see the car turn inside out)

Old Spice: Personal YouTube Responses

In what must be one of the most entertaining and stunningly brilliant online campaigns ever, the Old Spice character Isaiah Mustafa has been doing personalised video messages to users commenting on the commercials on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and the web in general. There are so far around 50 video responses !

Visit the Old Spice You Tube page to see them all by clicking here. (select the responses video button in the top right corner)

Celeb replies have included Ellen, Guy Kawasaki, Kevin Rose and Perez Hilton. Brilliant, makes me what to go a buy a stash of Old Spice Body wash.

Great work from Wieden + Kennedy.

Gillette: The Perfect Length?

Gillette have released 4 great double entendre shaving interviews. My fav is the one above entitled “What’s the perfect length”, be sure not to miss the other 3 (Just click on the links below to see the video):

Great work from Proximity, Canada, the same people that bought you the Gillette groin shaving tips commercial.

Nando’s: Biggest Loser

Nandos loser

Nice tongue in cheek print from Nando’s claiming South Africa to be the “Biggest Loser”, in the way that we have lost the negative attitude of South Africa and come through this world cup a better, prouder country. The campaign also ask South African’s to keep their flags up for another 30 days to celebrate what has passed.

Agency credit to Black River FC.

TomTom: Yoda (Star Wars Navigation)

TomTom have teamed up with Yoda for their stunning new Star Wars range of navigation voiceovers. Last time we saw them recording with Darth Vader (click here to see that one), but now its time for the return of the Jedi with Master Yoda behind the mic.

The commercial was made by Pool Worldwide, Amsterdam and is part of a campaign to launch the new TomTom Star Wars voice over range for their GPS navigation systems. Other voices soon to be available include C-3PO, and Hans Solo !

Pool and TomTom also created a brilliant microsite for the launch of the range. The site featuring voice clips, shortcuts to buy the voiceovers, free screensavers, and a Star Wars AR game where you have to use the force to lift a TomTom in the air !

KitKat: Vuvuzela

KitKat_vuvuzela As the World Cup draws to a close this coming weekend I’m sure there will be some who will be grateful that the constant hum of Vuvuzelas will come to stop. On that note I thought I would share this great print ad from JWT, Brussels, for KitKat.
