Last week saw in the worlds annual advertising ego justification awards, namely Cannes. This above campaign won big for the Integrated and Titanium selection and have been looking for a case study video since its launch last year so here it is! Fantastic work by Droga5 NYC, for Microsoft’s Bing Search engine.

Saatchi & Saatchi Cape Town has made up these great illustrations to tell the story of three iconic musicians for the launch of their biographies in a series of in-store posters for Wordsworth Books.
The poster campaign featured musical greats, Keith Richard, Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson, which used the art of music to tell their stories.

VW: Golf R G-Force

Fun work for VW, this time for the new Golf R. They created prosthetic mouth pieces that mimicked the effects of g-force and then hired promoters to walk around town with branded T-Shirts saying “Golf R, 188KW of refined fury”. Simple, effective, funny.

MINI: Race The World app

Great work by DDB Paris and Unit 9 for Mini. They have done a mashup of Google Maps and facebook and put it all together with some nifty Flash work. Basically you install the facebook app, pick a Mini, choose any place on earth, and then either create a race circuit yourself or find one someone else has already made and race the car around the map. You can then challenge friends, post your times, and invite friends to join in. Was glad to get to make the first circuit in Cape Town. Did You Know: Social Media Revolution 2011

Wonderful update of the ever popular Did You Know style videos this time by Socialnomics.

All your favourite mind boggling social media stats have been updated and a Lion King African style sound track added.

The work is based on the book Socialnomics by Erik Qualman.

Love this ad for Stimorol’s new Taste Twist chewing gum. The campaign was done by our very own Peri van Papendorp and Jamie Mietz of Ogilvy Cape Town.

Perrier: Le Club

Wonderful interactive work by Ogilvy Paris for Perrier. They have created a YouTube page and 6 videos of the club that that can be unlocked. Burger King: Whopper Lust

Great work by CP+B for Burger King. Instead of asking people to “Like” their whopper burger to get a reward they booked out a channel on Direct TV in the USA and all that airs on the programme is a spinning Whopper burger 24/7. If you view the channel long enough prompts are displayed telling you how to get a free one. So far 50,000 Whoppers have been given away. They say people have viewed the channel for over 300,000 minutes just to get their free burger.
