Corona: Beach Desktop

Great work from JWT Spain for Corona. They created a programme for your desktop that aims to raise awareness of the importance of keeping beaches clean. The Project allows you to install beach wallpaper on your desktop and then customise your icons to fit the scene.

Great in theory but imagine that it would take people some time to customise all the icons as they did above.

Super Bowl Ads 2013

It’s that time of year again where lots of very expensive ads get airtime, and 2 teams play a game of football, this time the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens. The highlight of last nights game was when the lights went out  for around 30 minutes, twitter exploded and the funny remarks started pouring in, the Oreo responded right away with the very short and clever tweet below.  My pick for the best goes to RAM Trucks.

Below is my pick of the advertising highlights from the 2013 Super Bowl (For the best car ads go to http://www.chrisrawlinson.com/2013/01/super-bowl-car-ad-highlights/ or to browse all the ads go to http://www.youtube.com/user/adblitz )

Super Bowl Car ad highlights

It’s that time of year again where big brands who can afford around $4million dollars to pay for a 30 second ad during the Super Bowl (+ normally from $6million to make), start to share their work.

Below are the main ads released so far from Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Kia, Toyota, and Hyundai.

Which is your favourite? sound off in the comments if you like. Personally I’m for the Mercedes spot so far, however the Toyota and Kaley Cuoco combo has got the YouTube viewing vote so far with well over 6million views.

Volkswagen: Get In. Get Happy. // Agency: Deutsch LA

Kia: Space Babies // Agency: David&Goliath, USA

Audi: Prom // Agency: Venables Bell & Partners

Toyota: Wish // Agency: Saatchi & Saatchi

Hyundai: Team // Agency: Innocean

Mercedes: Soul // Agency: Merkley + Partners

Volkswagen: Dog

Fun new spot from DDB, Amsterdam, for Volkswagen. I’m glad all dogs aren’t like this 🙂

VW: Get Happy (2013 Super Bowl Spot)

Volkswagen are channeling some Coca Cola style energy for their pre game Super Bowl ad. Volkswagen teamed up with reggae artist Jimmy Cliff and lots of YouTube stars to create some happiness from all the freak-outs, meltdowns, and temper tantrums shown online. They are using the hashtag #GetHappy for the campaign giving away the track played in the ad at by Jimmy Cliff at http://www.vw.com.

Agency: Deutsch LA

Microsoft: IE – Child of the 90s

Microsoft have just released a wonderful ad for the new Internet Explorer looking back at the 90s, the decade IE was born. If you’re a child of the 90s prepare to get nostalgic. Wonderful work by Column Five, Newport Beach, CA, USA

On the clip Microsoft say “You grew up. So did we. Reconnect with the new Internet Explorer.

TNT: A dramatic surprise on an ice-cold day

TNT have released a follow up ad to last years dramatic activation that took YouTube and the world by storm. This time they spice it up a little, the ad includes kidnapping the person that pushes the button, riot police, naked old men, and more!

Watch above to see how it played out. Great work again by advertising Agency Duval Guillaume.

Dove Body Wash: Scratch Card

Always like finding simple yet effective ad stunts, the above is for Dove body wash from Ogilvy & Mather, Toronto. Now if only they included a mobile friendly URL with something to help the person actually get the product….
