When this ad for a “Wicked Sick BMX” was listed on ebay earlier this year, the worlds blogosphere and twitter etc were quick to pick up on the brilliant copy used for the ad. Now it has emerged that the ad was the work of an Aussie creative team at George Patterson Y&R. The guys from GPYR bought a BMX on ebay and relisted it with some creativity and it sold for 5 times the purchase price catching everyone’s attention in the process!! The project was called The Wicked Sick Project and according to this video it was a test to see how much difference creativity makes !
