Cadbury Tumbles are being re-launched and are going large. Cadbury agency “Promise”, JHB, created the above ad featuring Tumbles chocolates going around an obstacle course featuring lots of boys toys like model cars, crossbows, fireworks, and even a garden gnome. Personally I would have loved to see the girl fall in the water at the end, but regardless I am all of a sudden hungry for some chocolate. Below are some fun facts for the above campaign: The ad was shot in a single take and the machine actually worked • 17 000 Tumbles were weighed to get 8 suitably sized balls to trigger the machine • It took 6 weeks to build the machine • The tracks for the cars expanded and contracted due to changes in temperature, thus the room had to remain at a constant temperature for the machine to work • The balloons had to be filled with the correct amount of helium for each take in order for the machine to function correctly • The Tumble snapped up by the dog in the final scene was in fact a doggy treat as our fury friends do not eat chocolate!
Two rather charming outdoor campaigns by the fast food joint everyone loves to hate, McDonalds. Just click them to enlarge the images. The first burger moon print was made by the Heye Group, Germany. The painted zebra crossing campaign was done at a Zurich pedestrian crossing during Zürifest in July, the work was done by TBWA, Switzerland. via: Adholic
Not sure how sunny it is in the mother country (England), but either way I know the feeling this chap has in the above entertaining Subway commercial. The ad was produced by McCann, London, they also produced a 10sec version here. Jake Courage, McCann’s Subway account director said: “We brits love summer and no one else knows how to get the most out of it better than us. Spending most of the year in the wind and cold is worth the pain for those long, lazy days in the sun. As soon as it starts to shine, we want to get outside and enjoy ourselves, grab a bite to eat and head for the nearest park for lunch. But our time in the sun is often short lived so the faster we can get into picnic mode the better. Subway is the perfect accompaniment to summer because it’s great range of delicious and freshly made subs will have you picnic ready in no time. So come on guys get out there and make the most of summer with Subway!”
As the World Cup draws to a close this coming weekend I’m sure there will be some who will be grateful that the constant hum of Vuvuzelas will come to stop. On that note I thought I would share this great print ad from JWT, Brussels, for KitKat. Hat Tip: I Believe in Advertising
Skittles recently gave away a bizarre bowling scholarship worth $10,000 to James Fulp. The scholarship was part of a Skittles facebook “Mob The Rainbow” campaign, all fans had to do was click the “Like” button on their facebook page and after 100,000 “Likes” the scholarship money was awarded. Skittles in my view has one of the best brand facebook pages in the world and is definitely worth a look (click here). They also have a great website that is never ending (i.e. you can scroll down the page forever), they integrate consumer generated Skittles content from their You Tube, Twitter and facebook networks. Great work again from the Evolution Bureau
More brilliant World Cup advertising from Black River FC for Nando’s. This time the plucky restaurant chain are offering Uruguayan players and their fans a free Coke if they lose against South Africa tomorrow ! On a side note check out the these new Nando’s crisps I found in Tesco’s, great packaging copy.
Above is a fantastic South African commercial for Nando’s restaurants. The clip shows South African hotties going topless to make the visitors feel more at home with the expected African stereotypes. Some great cheesy copy is also included such as “Nice puppies, mind if I stroke them?” (man to a topless girl with some dogs). Enjoy, and huge hat tip to http://www.10and5.com/ for the find.
Brilliant new advert for Warburtons bread by RKCR/Y&R, London. The Apocalypse Now’s “Adagio For Strings” soundtrack makes it. If you like the above check out their first new effort that aired a couple of weeks ago called Warburtons Hero (click here).
