Old Spice: Armpit Mountain
A month after the very popular “Smell like a man” clip, Old Spice and Wieden + Kennedy are at it again, this time to advertise their new underarm deodorant sticks. If your “Handsomeness is a burden your face has to live with, every day” then it seems like old spice Matterhorn (“The worlds most successful mountain”) might just be the deodorant for you. To see more of the hilariously cheesy work for Old Spice check out their YouTube channel here.

Lets face it, what could possibly say “buy Axe hair products” better than having some school girls fondly sniffing their fingers. BBH and Axe are back for another cheeky campaign, this time for Axe hair. There are 5 hair action ads in total but the above is my pick. To view the rest of the entertaining clips and see some behind the scenes footage, visit the Axe YouTube page. Axe are also giving Facebook fans the chance to win a trip to any sporting event of your choice and more by uploading your own fun “Hair Action” video clip. Click here to check out the Axe Facebook page. Hat Tip: Adgabber

Ad agency Mother, London has just launched its first large campaign for UK’s Match.com. The ad is part of a new £7m through the line campaign, and features a couple finding love in a music shop. The stunning lady in the clip is called Amber Anderson and is set to star later in the year in a new film called “Your Highness” alongside Natalie Portman. I wish her all the best, she had me at “I laugh in my Sleep”.
They have also launched twitter profiles for the characters named ‘jackmatch’ and ‘jillmatch’, 5 people out of the first 100 followers will win a years free membership to Match.com. If facebook is your thing you can also check out the Facebook page, and if you like the song they were even kind enough to make a full length version (click here to listen to “That’s Just Me”)
P.S: If any girls are wondering, the chap is called James Connelly

I saw the above beauty on TV the other night and had to track it down. Its a new South African commercial for Tetra Pak by Lowe Bull, Johannesburg. The ad is based on the story of a real U.S park ranger called Roy Sullivan, who was struck by lightning seven times between 1942 and 1977. He earned the nickname "Human Lightning Rod" and is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the person struck by lightning more recorded times than any other human being. He died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 71. That’s one unlucky chap ! Great ad though.

Classic advert for Skoda’s new “Superb Combi” car. The ad features glass harp player Petr Spatina playing on 597 Schott Zwiesel crystal wine glasses filled with different levels of water, and laid out in the shape of the new car. Great creative idea showing that the car has up to 1,865 litres of luggage space, hear more of Petr’s glass music here. The ad was beautifully created by Leagas Delaney, Hamburg. Hat Tip: Adfreak

Nice little new number featuring Paris Hilton, this time she is strutting her stuff for a Brazilian beer brand called Devassa. The ad was done by Agencia Mood, and so far the above clip has received no less than 3 separate investigations for sexism, being too sensual, and encouraging drinking ! So if you want to cause a stir for your next ad, campaign just call Paris Hilton.

After seeing a recent post on AdPunch on Wonderbra’s great creative advertising, I thought I would pick out some out some of the best that I have seen over the years. Kulula has been hard at work lately, not content with making the world laugh with their fun new aircraft paint schemes, they have now launched a hilarious travel blog called “Trev does travel” complete with a dedicated travel blogger named Trevor Townsend. Trev as he likes to be known, describes himself as a “Professional handmodel. Scrabble champion. And as of 2010, Kulula’s new official travel blogger”. I want his job ! so far he has been to Mauritius (he describes it as “It is as beautiful as Angelina Jolie wearing a dress made of the babies she has had with Brad Pitt”), and has also had the honour of staying at Cape Towns Bantry Bay Luxury Suites hotel. Trev doesn’t just travel to great places though, he also hands out a multitude of fun travel tips and resources. The campaign has only just started but so far so funny, check trev out on facebook, twitter and the “Trev does travel” blog. This Kulula awesomeness is a brain child of the King James agency.

If you’re Canadian then you will probably like this, if you’re not then take in the overkill on the Canadian love given in this new ad for Molson Canadian beer. The spot is part of a rebrand for Molson Canadian beer by Zig agency. If this clip somehow doesn’t give you a big enough Canada hit, then have a look at their facebook page by clicking here.

Last week a post I did on Kulula’s new aircraft livery caused a traffic jam on my site after being linked to by BoingBoing (one of the world most popular blogs). Luckily I happen to know Kulula’s fantastic advertising & PR agency (King James & Atmosphere of Cape Town), I quickly contacted them and they kindly made up a fun banner to place next to the post in the sidebar of this site. So far the post has been viewed well over 150,000 times on my site alone and counting, and although all my analytics tools failed when the main traffic hit I can see that Kulula had thousands of click throughs to their site, not bad free global exposure.
Today I received the official press release and it looks like more fun paint jobs are being done for their new Boeing 737-800’s, read below to find out more and click on the pictures to enlarge;
“kulula’s latest plane design has been a worldwide hit after being seen by plane-spotters en-route to South Africa. Photos of the new livery dubbed “Flying 101” have since been viewed by millions having appeared on some of the world’s leading blogs, spurring a frenzy of online comments. All this before it even touched down in South Africa.
The design covers the planes exterior in a tongue-in-cheek guide to the various parts of the planes interior, such as the “Mile-high initiation chamber”. The plane is just one of a fleet expansion of eight state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800s (each with a unique livery). As these planes will be replacing the 737-400’s currently used in kulula’s fleet, South Africans can look forward to spotting the new 800’s during this year.
“The “Flying 101” was conceptualised and designed by kulula’s in-house design department. This branding idea is a result of our 2010 strategy to demystify air travel for our fans,” comments Nadine Damen, kulula Marketing Manager.
“Initially spotted by plane-spotters across the globe, our “Flying 101” plane has become famous on the world wide web before touching South African soil,” continues Damen. “We’ve been amazed by the number of blogs that have posted “Flying 101” images as well as the large number of people talking about the new branding on Twitter.”
The first Boeing, branded with the “Flying 101,” landed in Johannesburg on Monday, 8th February 2010 and will start operating from 13th February 2010. The second Boeing is currently undergoing its transformation and will appear to kulula fans much like an oversized container box, with the words “this way up” printed on its side, is scheduled to start operating on the 8th February 2010.”

Incredible work for Old Spice shower gel by Wieden + Kennedy. The appropriate internet lingo I would use to describe the above ad would have to be something along the lines of “OMG Wieden’s pwnage in that Old Spice ad made me LMAO”.
