Have just been sent this fantastic creative print campaign for the Russia Today News (RT News), courtesy of the fantastic ladies and gentlemen at McCann-Erickson, London. (Click on the relevant picture for the full size) As the name suggests, RT News have a different perspective on world events. So the breaking print, poster and online campaign encourages consumers to question the somewhat narrow, accepted view on the news. Congratulations for some great work to Jamie, Harriet, David C, James and Melissa, Kasia, Aidan, Tim & Miguel, Mark (Carter), Jon, Gary T, Colin, Sophie, Pam and Emma Storer. On April the 26th they released a video message on the T-Mobile YouTube page asking people to turn up at Trafalgar Square in London at 6-7pm to be in a new ad for T-mobile, and they did ! (Click here for the video message) 13,500 people showed up on time and had a 1 hour filmed mass karaoke session. Pink was in the crowd to provide some celeb fun, and Saatchi placed some paid actors around the crowd with wireless microphone’s (along with approx 2000 more for the public) to make 100% sure they could get some good shots. Great work from Saatchi UK again. The above clip is the full length ad featuring the Beatles track “Hey Jude”. To read more about the ad from Saatchi click here.

100 sexy girl dancers came together for a flash dance performance of the hit Beyoncé song “Single Ladies” in the middle of Piccadilly Circus in London. This was done to publicise the announcement of Trident (a chewing gum brand) sponsoring a free Beyoncé gig in London in November.
I can only guess that this was done by their UK agency Fallon, but as this is v v new there are no precise details.
Oh and if your wondering why it is in black and white, its because the original music video was also in black and white !

As a promo for Mastercard they created a huge billboard ad with the copy “Hannah Davis please be my valentine” and then underneath “ The things we do for love, Priceless”. They then stuck a chair in the middle of a picture of a huge heart and placed a brave man in the said seat who then had to sit there till his potential valentine arrived (This is London winter temps remember!). They even had 3 violinists in dresses playing classical love tunes to set the tone. As this was done in the morning you can imagine it attracted a lot of attention so I’m sure the chap was glad when his lady arrived and accepted his proclamation of love, I especially love the bit at the end were the girl says “ You’re a Muppet but I love you”.

The idea is to make the ad interactive and enjoyable (therefore memorable and viral) and allow the people of London to play a game of “Goo the Egg” where players have to splat with their hands as many Cadburys cream eggs as possible in under 30 seconds. The ads have been placed using touch screens on the side of selected London Bus stops (click here for Google maps to locations of the game). If your not in London why not have a look at their latest funny musical eyebrow ad here. P.S. Looks like the game is also available in Canada and Ireland
